iPad Orders Slowing Down, More Than 150,000 Sold So Far [ESTIMATE]
Apple’s iPad has recently stopped being a myth and started being something you can actually buy, which means it’s possible to guesstimate how many iPads are being pre-ordered.
A blogger called Deagol (his real name is Daniel Tello) is something of an expert on the subject. By monitoring order numbers submitted at Investor Village’s AAPL Sanity board, he managed to get an idea of how many iPads have been ordered so far, and how orders have been slowing down over time.
Check out one of his graphs, embedded below. If it’s close to reality, iPad pre-orders started with a bang, reaching well over 100,000 in the first 10 hours, but slowing down significantly on the second and third day.
Of course, declining orders may be due to the simple fact that the second and third day of iPad sales were Saturday and Sunday. Even if you take the weekend into account, though, Deagol’s numbers indicate far slower pre-orders in the future.
Check out Deagol’s lengthy analysis over at his blog, and tell us what you think: Will iPad’s pre-orders pick up again after the weekend or is the iPad rush behind us?

Have they announced how to force quit unresponsive apps on the HP Slate yet?, maybe an extra button to kill whichever email client Microsoft develop for it would be good

Even I waiting for HP's Slate .. I have been very disappointed with Apple's Ipad .. I was expecting a masterpiece ..( I guess ..) with a camera, which would multifunctional and has a flash on it .. and more .. but the expectations came to end very soon though ,..I hope HP's slate would be a little better ..

Another case of Apple marketing. Wondering how many thousands of folks will have buyer's remorse, once they figure out the limitations of this device. For me, I'll just wait 6 months for the used ones to start showing up on eBay and Craigslist. Not worth the sticker price, much less the monthly recurring data charge…

They should see a boast once Amazon gets its act together and starts taking pre-orders: http://bit.ly/byI1Jc
I and many other prefer to buy our Apple gear from Amazon. I get 2nd day shipping for free and overnight for next to nothing.

let's say they average profit on each unit is $200… hell, let's say $100 (which is fairly safe to assume), if they've sold 150,000 units, they've profited $15,000,000 just off pre-sales. What I'd do for some of those zero's.

Why will this be your first Apple product? If you've waited this long and you can stand to wait a bit more, get an HP Slate. So much better and it has the same multi-touch technology this oversized iTouch has.

I'm not impressed, but I'm not surprised either. There are plenty of Apple nubs that will buy anything Apple makes if for no other reason that it's Apple.

And your iphone can actually do more than a big ipod Touch.

Or you could just buy one of the better competing products that are or will be available in the near term.

Have to say am impressed by the sales, given all that the iPad lacks. I have to agree that Apple is the digital media hardware maker company of this age. And congratulation Steve, but keep in mind: THE ANDROIDS ARE COMING!!

I tihnk a lot of us have gotten smart and realize that the price will be lowered close to Christmas or that they will release a 2nd Gen in a year that will include more features. I fell for this with my Iphone twice and won't do it this time. i have my HP Touchsmart laptop that does a lot of what the Ipad does I will wait to see what happens with the other tablets later in the year,

ipad sales will slump till April Third when the Press will dominate and people see it in person. It will kill in sales then and the next reality will begin. And this will be my first Apple product ever.

Again I'm not entirely sure his numbers are reliable since he's basing it on invoice numbers right? Also if you are basing it on invoice numbers it would exclude those who purchased more than one per invoice which would drastically deflate the actual numbers. http://www.baduku.com/topics/apple-ipad_187

Of course they're going to slow down – the hardcore order the first day. It's like the first day of anything. Why paint a natural curve as an implied negative?
